One of the most popular OBS modifications is swapping in the updated 1995-1998 dashboard. The newer dash features a centralized radio, improved HVAC controls, and a cleaner gauge cluster. Source your parts from a single donor vehicle for consistency. The swap takes a full weekend. The 95+ harness uses different connectors so plan your wiring approach carefully. The gauge cluster from 95+ trucks includes a tachometer on V8 models which is a nice bonus. While the dash is apart, install sound deadening material and upgrade your speakers.
